Technological Advancements: Article Analysis

Technology has changed and advanced vastly over time. Through out these three articles a variety of technological advances are displayed. The first article is about how technology for treasure hunters have improved. The second article is how technology for hurricane hunters have improved. The third article is about how technology has advanced for people who explore looking for ancient civilizations. The most advanced technology for researchers today is the ones used for finding ancient civilizations.

In the first article, we learn about how technology has advanced for treasure divers. This is valuable information to obtain. These sea explorers find some history from the ships and artifacts they discover. "The mailbox, invented by

Archeologists used to look for important artifact on foot walking in a large area. "...secrets of ancient Egypt were found by trudging across scorching deserts on camels, guided by tattered maps" (Juan De Los Santos, Search for Anicent Civilizations, Paragraph 1). This quote shows that the explorers would travel on foot or animals, depending where they were, and try to find an ancient place or artifact. This technique wasn't that great with finding things and it took a long time. In 2011, most explorers turned to infrared satellite archeology. "Infrared stellite imagery detects these differences in density, revealing buried roads, tombs, and cities" (Juan De Los Santos, Anicent Civilizations, Paragraph 2). This quote means that the infrared technology highlights the density differences and shows that there is something different in the ground. When this happens, the technolodgy can detect all sorts of things. This saved people lots of time and while they used this technology, they found more artifacts than they usually would. The old way to find a city in a large jungle or forest was to take something sharp and cut your way through all the branches and vines to hopefully find something.
