Teasing Martha Through Social Media

Decent Essays
Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed girls in school teasing Martha through social media posts. I should do something about the teasing because some of the bullying is coming from her so called “friends” and they know more than Martha wants them to say. Friends should never do that to one another, so that's another reason that I should help instead of of just minding my business. You should always help someone who is being bullied, so you shouldn't just stay there minding your own business. I would help Martha stop the bullies, instead of minding my own business. Helping someone being bullied will not only make them feel better, but it will make you feel better than if you did nothing. Also, it states that some of the girls appear to be Martha's friends, and when your friends start to bully you and spread rumours about you, you get a lower self esteem and feel worse than if it were someone else bullying you. Helping Martha would be the best bet because just ignoring it nothing will stop, or it will get worse. …show more content…
This goes to show why she will need me to help, I could even become her friend. I can see how someone would not want to get involved by helping her, because they would be afraid of getting bullied back, but helping her would still make her and you feel better in the end. You could even block the people who are being rude and contact authorities if it got out of hand! Over the past few weeks there were these girls bullying Martha through social media, even her “friends” were spreading rumours! I would stand up for Martha, because she just needs a friend in this state of her life. Martha needs someone to help stop the cyberbullying, so why mind your own business? Bullying someone is not okay, so you should help, not do

Alice has lost all of her self worth and lives a life of constant pain. In the last chapter she describes the impact of bullying like “a million paper cuts on my heart” (Mathieu 192). She explains that the pain that other have caused her had to be gradual, “so there could be enough time for me to become subhuman in their eyes” (Mathieu 193). Ever since the rumors began, she’s kept to herself and in total isolation. This is typical as van der Wal wrote “Being repeatedly bullied has been associated with an increased risk of depression, (7-13) suicidal ideation, (8) and loneliness” (Wal, Marcel, Cees, and Hirasing).…

But, all she did was ask the bully to say a meaning less “sorry” and shake the victim’s hand. Or sometimes, the educator might say they are trying to resolve it despite the parents of the victim telling her repeatedly of their son being bullied. This shows how bullying is caused by a person’s environment since nobody is taking any useful actions. The actions that were taken would probably not stop the bully from picking on his victim since they would know that nothing would happen to…

Humanity, nowadays, cares nothing for others, only for themselves due to their mentality that is to see only what influences them and believe it is the truth. Elie Wiesel once declared, “When human lives are endangered, when humans dignity is in jeopardy, national borders and sensitivities become irrelevant. Where men or women are persecuted because of their race, religion, or political views, that place- at that moment- become the center of the universe.” Today I am not responding as a student knowledgeable to the unfortunate events, but as a young person of the twenty-first century, Elie Wiesel is indeed correct.…
