Tears Of A Tiger Personal Analysis

Connection to Self: Tears of a Tiger I can relate the situation from the novel Tears of a Tiger to my own life. In the novel the group of four boys( Robert Washington, Andrew Jackson, B.J. Carson, and Tyron Wills) crashed a car into a retaining wall which then burst into flames and exploded killing one of the boys. On page one it states the vehicle “had been noticeably weaving across the lanes of the expressway just before it hit a retaining wall and burst into flames.” I can relate as I have been in a car accident, not as devastating as the one shown in the novel but terrifying nonetheless. One bleak summer day my cousin Kevin, and my friend Carlos, decided to go along with me for a ride. Kevin who was 18 and could drive allowed me to drive in his stead this time just in preparation for when I would be able to drive myself. We decided to put gas in the car since it was low and I had confidence …show more content…
When I realized what had happened I started to sweat bullets and my friends had such a shocked and mortified expression that it just made me more terrified. I backed the car up and went outside with the others to see the damage that the crash had caused and I almost wish I had not gotten out. The whole front bumper of the car seemed broken and I felt my hopes of it being “just a scratch” crash and burn inside me. We parked the car near the gas station to try and see what we could do to fix it which was almost nothing. The manager of the station even came outside and told us “just put it in the trunk and go!” which was no help at all. We decided in the end to tie my shoe string to hold the bumper in place until we got home. Kevin decided to drive the car back and the entire way I prayed and prayed for my mother and father to be forgivable. They were not. I learned to wait and not drive until I get my license as I never want to feel like that again. Although nobody was injured or killed like in the novel it was a truly terrifying

During this section, we see Lulu growing more and more distant from her mother. I believe that she is doing this as a way of rebellion against her mother and in order to protect herself from being hurt. I also don’t believe that Amy should change her aggressive parenting styles in order to bring Lulu back to her. If they way she has raised them worked so well for all this time, she shouldn’t change her whole style, just some aspects of it. One of the ways that Amy should change her parenting style comes from textual evidence.…

My Artist’s Statement on Eric Edward Esper work, the 1977 CTA EL Train derailment the crash killed about 12 people and injured over 180 in that area of Chicago. In the painting I was looking at many people that were being oblivious to their surroundings. Therefore there were more causalities because they were not paying attention the streets and sidewalks still had snow on them, and in the scenery the cars are going the opposite direction from the crash. A closer look at the painting and you can spot the frantic people looking or trying desperately to get out of the train. “The Loop” not only refers to Chicago's central business district, but also a rectangular pattern formed by the city's elevated trains.…

On a beautiful clear morning of February the 19th, my mom picked me up from my class at the University of West Georgia, then we went to Waffle House to have a nice breakfast. We left from Waffle House, proceeding down Maple Street, and turned onto South Street and immediately onto Kenner Street. We then turned onto on the merging lane on South Park Street (US Hwy 27) heading south, we immediately halted to a full stop as vehicles moved from the middle lane into the merging lane in front of us, but at that time there were no vehicles behind us. As we waited to enter traffic, a car suddenly struck us from behind which caused the car to jerk violently forward, causing my mother’s chest to hit the steering wheel, and our heads and bodies to whip forward and then back.…

On September 9th, 2016 I was a passenger in rear-end car accident. At the young age of seventeen, I was ignorant, rebellious and negligent. At this time, I honestly believed that I knew it all and was always in the right; I would ignore anyone trying to guide me towards the right path or give me advice. As in the short story “Rain of Fire” by Evan Thomas, I would have never expected that a regular day could end up in such catastrophe. I learned not to trust those whom I have not gotten to know well enough.…

But that’s exactly what Obama did on September 19, penning an article for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette about the need for safe, reliable regulations around driverless cars. Establish Credibility: After doing a thorough research and going through several journals and peer reviews I can now say that the driverless car is a future not so away from us.
