1.0 Introduction

In this contemporary era, the most significant competitive advantages in the corporations is to have the resounding performance teams and it enhances the innovation and performance by increasing the employees’ satisfaction and loyalty, which will be more effective and efficient for a company (Warrick, 2016). Therefore, understanding the meaning of teamwork and the cooperation with the teammates is important for the society. Thus, this paper is a team-based study, therefore, the peers can have more ideas and perspectives during the discussion by using this approach. Interestingly, I did not recognise that my team experienced this stages; the reason for this condition was the team moved hurriedly through the forming and storming stages because of the time pressure and the team roles of the members. According to the team roles theory of Belbin (2010), he classified people into 9 different team roles which based on people 's interest and characteristics. Meanwhile, he divided these roles into 3 main types which is social, thinking and action. For my team, most of us belong to the social role which means that we are good listeners, can cooperate cohesively and have good communication within the team. Therefore, conflict and storming stages were not appeared obviously. However, one of the drawback of our team is the action role is very rare which indicated that there could be a difficulty to bring innovative ideas into the team and I anxious about this influence of action within the team in the following process. Based on the team roles ' theory, I noticed the importance of creating a cohesive team is to understand the teammates ' characteristics and roles and match them in the right position to accomplish the …show more content…
In every meeting, the team would discuss and set a goal together to ensure the teammates have a clear theme and sufficient preparation for the following meeting which is more effective and efficient for the discussion. I felt satisfying, energetic and excited for the meeting because we reached the goals in every meeting.

In additional, an overall goal was set which is A grade in our presentation. According to Locke and Latham (2002), a goal-setting theory was introduced which the specific, difficult and acceptable goal has a positive effect on the performance of the team. Therefore, we believed the highest grade can encourage and motivate us and achieve the expected mark. However, I did not realize this goal maybe too hard to reach and could cause pressure to our teammate, Jun. He lacks confidence and kept doubting himself, eventually, he started to feel guilty because he felt his performance may affect the team to reach the goal. I felt very sorry for Jun that I did not consider his feeling and make him feel depress and frustrating. Having this experience, I realized the goal-setting should be suitable and acceptable for every teammate. If the goal is too hard or too easy, the team should adjust it and make it more
