Team Teaching Lesson Plan Analysis

I believe that our team-teaching lesson plan went as planned. Although there are some areas of improvement, the overall experience was something that I have never done before. I have taken the feedback that the other group members have given to better understand what I would do if I were to ever teach a team-teaching lesson again. I think that this was a great experience as I gained knowledge and a better understanding on how to go about teaching a tam-teaching lesson. Making the lesson plan as a team was very fast and efficient. We were able to work together and even break parts of the lesson up for each group member to fill in. Based on the first time we explained what our lesson plan was we received some feedback from a group, which we …show more content…
I believe that our lesson incorporated food as a way to show traditions within a different culture that each student may have. This can be problematic because in some school districts there is a restriction on the type and how food is prepared. In the Iowa City School District there are strict rules that only store bought food that is sealed can be used within classrooms as well as no foods with peanuts due to allergies. I think that bringing a physical item such as the ones recommended would be a better option. Sending home a newsletter to parents to understand what would be appropriate items would be a great way to go about this issue. I also believe that incorporating a children’s’ book about culture would be a great way to engage students into the activity. I believe that having students read about different cultures and finding picture books could be a great way to help student visualize what different cultures appear as. I also believe that this lesson could be used in upper elementary by providing chapter books that explore the topic of culture. I believe that all grade levels could benefit from reading about a culture that resembles their own, but also teaches them about another culture as well. I think that these suggestions are very thoughtful and I would add them within my …show more content…
I believe that this is a teamwork effort that is put into this team-teaching lesson. Without everyone on board the lesson can become not as effective. I would split the lesson up into however many teachers are teaching the lesson. Making sure that transition is incorporated as much as possible. I would rehearse the lesson with each team member making revisions as needed, but the goal being that all the teachers understand what they are teaching. I believe that my team members and I did a good job for this being our first team-teaching lesson. I personally enjoy teaching a lesson on my own, but if there was a topic that I did not know much about and another teacher did I think that a team-teaching lesson would be great in that type of situation. I do plan to use team-teaching lessons when I become a teacher, but I do prefer to teach on my

We are so diverse but so harmonious. We cooperated well, we made funny jokes, we were so efficient. Everything went so smoothly during these 4 months we spent together. Honestly, I think that I cannot ask for a better team. During these days, I learned from them a lot, maybe even as much as I learned from the lecture.…

When there were not too many people, I usually would go to each person and worked with each individual. However, sometimes working with someone individually was difficult, especially when it was exam week for them, because there were so many people that it was challenging to explain each concept and problems one on one. During exam week, I would make my students sit in groups and ask them to help each other out first. Then, if someone or a couple of people still did not understand anything I would go over it with them together. Afterwards, I would give them practice exams, which I make beforehand to make sure they understand everything well enough to do well on the actual exam.…

For me the activity of working as a group especially with other individuals who I have not worked with or talked to before was a good learning experience that had both positive and negative outcomes using Driscoll’s model of reflection as a frame work to elaborate on how I interpreted what happened, what impact the situation had on me and what I will do in the future if presented with a similar situation (Driscoll and Teh, 2001). We were required to do a 10 minute presentation for a health promotion project that we developed. I decided to work with other individuals who I didn’t know and have not worked with before as I believed I would be more productive and respectful if I worked with people I didn’t know very well. For the first tutorial…

Learning Theory-Based Activities (two) Performance Objective: Students will engage with their groups in experimentation and discussion over Riggerfish mechanics, and develop at least one page worth of notes regarding the game. This activity focuses on students working together in groups to figure out better techniques in Riggerfish. Students will be given ten minutes during the school day to play the game. If the teacher has to use computer rooms to accomplish this, the teachers are encouraged to partner groups together in the rooms. The purpose of this memo is to evaluate myself and my team members’ contribution to the presentation. We named our team “The Project Team”; which includes Brianna Rebelo, Tatenda Mudeke, Fatima Armaghan, and I. The companies we chose to analyze are Staples and RadioShack. Tatenda created the team charter, I did the team schedule and research for bibliography, Brianna did all the editing and organizing, and Fatima did some research about the companies. We shared our work equally throughout the project.…

At the beginning of the semester, we were assigned a team project. At first, the assignment sounded difficult to me because it was just at the beginning of the semester and I did not know my classmates or the team members assigned to my group. With the help of the teachers I was able to meet and get to know my team members by their names, we exchanged our phone numbers and email address to ease communication. In our first meeting, we were able to select the team leader, come up with the rules to govern the team and also plan the times we were going to be holding the team meeting every week. In our second session, we were able to come up with the project, discuss the project then divided and allotted tasks to each member.…

While creating the lesson plans for my 10-day unit, I made a template to guide me in my instruction. For the procedure section of my lesson plan, I have split each class into three different parts: theory instruction (12 minutes), assessment/activity (15 minutes), and singing (25 minutes). Theory instruction is when I am using my knowledge of student’s prior skills to expand on what they know, and teach new concepts that will link to those from before. During the assessment/activity, I make sure that the students comprehended and can apply what they learned during the first 12 minutes. During the singing portion of class, we work on learning and perfecting the repertoire for upcoming performances.…

Reflection: The aspects of the small group session that went well were that the group members were enthusiastic, prompt/engaged during group sessions, the lessons were well organized, the conference room was in a non-threatening area, and the students were open to feedback. I think the group went well because it was made up of all females who were visibly relieved to learn that there were others in the school that shared similar experiences. If any of the identified male students participated, I feel it would have negatively impacted the trust and openness developed between the female students. The results of the post-test and activities indicated that the students learned. I was able to coordinate it so students were not out of class during a core class, which reduced their stress…

The importance of a Individualized Lesson Plan (ILP) or an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is to help every child in the be successful in the classroom. Individualized Education Plans are often used in the classroom to cater to students with behavioral issues, learning disabilities, problems focusing inside the classroom and other issues. I attended “The Power of a Team” presented by the Kansas Teachers of the Year on January 27th. The teacher’s spoke of how being part of a team and working with the students truly helps the learning experiences of the students become a positive one. Each teacher spoke on the reasons why they became a teacher and from there they spoke of how once they were in the classroom, the faculty members at their schools teamed up with them to help them create a positive learning experience. Whether it was through mentoring, or sharing ideas on how to deal with certain situations, the faculty members became a team and the students a part of their family. Our assignment was to be able to answer how technology aids teachers in working in teams more efficiently,…

Collaborative planning as a process was a fantastic experience in the sense it allowed for the creation of such a variety of ideas and thoughts to create a sequence of investigative science lessons. The initial group discussion about the direction of our lessons began as sharing and jotting down main learning intentions, approaches, teaching methods, learners needs and resources. Collaborative curriculum planning was effective once we figured out the best possible way to contribute our ideas and works without the troubles of constant emails and catch ups, our saving grace was incorporating ICT and welcoming Google docs into our group.…

A lesson plan was written up for a Year 5 Humanities and Social Science lesson covering the curriculum content, why people work in groups to achieve their aims, and how they can express their shared beliefs and values and exercise influence (ACHCK027) (Australian Curriculum, n.d.). The completed lesson plan was then emailed to three peers and the unit tutor. The peers and tutor were to review and provide constructive feedback on how the lesson plan could be improved. Through the process of receiving peer and tutor feedback a number of areas were highlighted that need to be worked on.…

I am really glad we got to plan for and execute this lesson before we actually teach a lesson in our classroom with the students. I not only was able to learn what went well and what I could work on but I also was able to learn from my peers and things that went well and what could be changed in their lesson. It was less pressure to do them with our classmates first than it will be to teach it in a class full of 4th and 5th grade students. For my lesson, I choose to do the topic of immigration because that is what they are going to be learning about next in social studies. This is the topic I did for my text set in this class.…
