Team Leadership Concepts Analysis From an individual experience as a team leader and also as a team member, I have realized that the central most concepts in team building are embedded in the ability to inspire a group of individuals. These individuals may have varying strengths, and it is this variety that creates the team. As the co-founder and manager of a nursery in KSA, my success in team leadership has always depended on the understanding of my team members. The understanding of the unique strengths and weakness of every team member is critical in providing leadership. It is on this ground that I realized that the concept of Alignment and results in team building plays a significant role in team building. The communication must be purposeful and direct. As the manager of the nursery, I have come to realize that communication is imperative in ensuring that tasks are done. The fact that I manage the nursery program from the USA confirms the need for effective communication in the alignment process. The alignment concept is evidenced where I try to combine the individual strengths of my team to deliver results. Apart from communication, the realization of the need to understand the people you work with cannot be underestimated. In issuing instructions and directives, as the manager I have to identify relevant personalities. The identification process helps in aligning tasks based on individuals? ability, strengths and talents.
