Personal Narrative: A New Team Member In My Team

Improved Essays
When I had worked about 12 months, I heard that there would be a new team member in our team. It was the first experience to meet a junior co-worker, so I really expected to it. At that time, because of the team leader, it was so tough time for me, thus I needed something to refresh the bad environment and atmosphere. I expected the new co-worker would be able to be a good opportunity to make a good environment. I remember the day when I met him and other freshmen in the restaurant. I told him the work life in our team would be hard, and he seemed to be anxious about it. During the welcome party, he asked the workload of our team and confessed his worry to my co-worker who worked with me in the same team. The co-worker uttered a strong warning …show more content…
When he got the job offer from my company, he was 27 years old in Korean age, and it was relatively early compared to other university students. I thought he was a very quiet and shy man, but, consequently it was a wrong idea. He really loved to travel, shopping, meet women, and drink alcohol. Sometimes, he overslept, and was late for work because he had drunken a lot of alcohol the night before. In my case, because I lived with my parents, my mom always woke up me to avoid being late for work, thus I did not have any experience to be late. However, he lived alone in a small room near his university. Honestly, I did not want to blame him because I loved to drink alcohol either, so I could understand him. He and I often drunk alcohol just two of us. When we were enough drunk, he gave a talk about the sexual relationship with beautiful women who he had met in his university and work. Honestly, I did not think he was very attractive and handsome, however he was very favored guy to women. He had a lot of experience to make love with different women, and when I heard his story, I really feel envy his ability. I was not a popular and favored guy in the university, workplace and parties. Honestly, it seemed to me that I had longed for love from women. I wanted to be a popular person, but it was not possible for …show more content…
I had to move to V sales team, and he had to move to D region sales team. Before I quit my job, we often drunk together, and we made a lot of conversations about our career and future. He is a very kind and polite person. Especially, as a co-worker, he tried to focus on my strong work abilities and learn my skills. I think it was so lucky to meet him as my first junior co-worker. I could not teach many things for him, but I could learn and feel a lot of thing from him. To work with him was one of the most valuable experiences for
