Team success is known to increase team cohesion as individuals are naturally attracted to groups that satisfy their goals (McShane, Steen, & Tasa, 2015). Team success has been apparent in various situations as our group has celebrated minor achievements and victories. These successes can be perceived when my team placed in the final two for the paper tower challenge, when we mastered the art of making a paper airplane, and when all of us were present during class.
The final team cohesion influencer is external competition and challenges. This has the potential to influence team cohesion as overcoming conflict and threats as a team results in the members of the team to have a larger attachment to remain members (McShane, Steen, & Tasa, 2015). Although challenges are experienced by every group, I do not think my group encountered any external challenge that we found difficult to overcome.
