I chose to participate in Varsity soccer, because I have a passion for soccer. I also wanted to stay healthy, be part of a team, be a leader, and have fun! Through playing soccer in High School, I was taught how to be a team player, which is an essential skill for life. Being a team player is beneficial for the entire team! For example, if I have a decent chance to score a goal, but my teammate has an even better chance to score, I would pass the ball to him instead of scoring myself! Learning how to do hard things and pushing my body and mind beyond what I thought I could've is a huge lesson learned from playing soccer.
