As a team leader, it is important to remember one thing- team. A leader is the face of the entire organization, they speak and obtain authority, but they could not do anything without the “team”. Thus identifying that being a team player who shares the work and credit is the best quality to have. This is because a leader relies on the group as much as the group relies on the leader, a team involves everyone, including the captain, and the team puts in just as much work as the captain does. If there is no team, there is no leader. If there is a team, but with no leader, the team is too divergent and decisions would be less likely to be agreed upon. They are the ones who put in all the work, and little do they receive the credit. If the head of a group has dignity or prudence, then they too understand that the job could not be done without the working force. One man cannot solely complete the job of a team; thus the saying ‘team effort’. Many think that being a strong communicator or a good motivator is most important in a leader, but this is proven to be shown when a leader shares the work and credit. A courageous leader will motivate the team and communicate well if they act as part of the team, not the commander-in-chief. If participating as a whole, the leader can show all the right traits, as long as they are dividing the effort that the team contributes and not taking all the credit. In conclusion, a leader can be an amazing communicator, a good motivator, and have great planning skills, as long as they share the credit and work with the rest of the team. It is easy to imagine a leader and a team as a house. Without the foundation, there would be no walls, no floor, no ceiling, and no home. The team is the foundation that holds up the home, which is the superior. The leader and the team rely on one another evenly, a team is a group effort, and the team and leader put in the same amount of work, which proves that the most important quality in a captain is the ability to share work and
