These students from the public education system were similar to flowers. Generally speaking, they were not provided with the individualized care needed for their plant type. Because of this, they had stunted growth, and no motivation to bloom. A proper environment is what students need, one with sunshine and nurturing to help them through their budding stages so they can flourish and blossom. Therefore, my team members and I needed to prepare our students with the basic study skills to become successful students, and lifelong learners. To achieve this, we collaborated over the years to address issues such as, providing food, helping them learn how to learn efficiently and creating an environment that actively involved students in a fun way. We our teaching method to be successful and that our students greatly benefited from their time with us. Through this experience, I truly felt how privileged I am to have grown up in the Canadian public school system where children can receive a quality education for free. While giving that same care back to the community I realized how necessary it is to do your part and support those around you, to build up the community. Even if it is not the one immediately close
