Teaching Styles In My Response To 'Hi Sarah !'

Decent Essays
Hi Sarah!!

I agree with your response to the quote. I didn't think to talk about teaching styles in my response, but I think it is such a good point. Everyone learns different so as future teachers we have to teach in many different styles to accomodate all of our students. Great view point!!

School is the beginning of our adventure through life. It not only teaches us the mandatory lessons needed but also ones that stick to us throughout life. Whether it was that one extraordinary teacher or the one everyone hated, students would still learn and use it to their advantage. Unfortunately, this was the mindset of teenagers/ young adult’s years ago; now the students of today aren’t understanding the value of their education and how far it can take them.…

Interview Paper For the gender/generational interview paper I chose to interview my father-in-law, Mike Andridge. Mike is part of Generation X, he is a health teacher at a middle school in Plymouth, MI, and a majority of his co-workers are women. For this reason, I chose to ask him many questions about gender in the workplace. The questions I chose to ask relate to the materials that we have read and discussed throughout the semester.…

And Still We Rise by Miles Corwin 1) In this book there was two teachers, Toni Little and Anita Moultrie. These two teachers had different styles of teaching their class. One way of teaching that really popped out at me was how Toni assigned an essay to the class to see the difference in writing of the student. This way she would be able to see which students were dedicated to school or which ones where just there to be there and not even pay attention.…

The U.S Constitution grants an American Citizen the Constitutional right to freedom of speech and expression, but there are certain groups of citizens that are being denied their right to freedom of speech and expression. Teachers in the United States are being denied their First Amendment right to freedom of speech and expression by limiting on how they express their views on education, limits on what they can put on blogs or letters, and limiting on how they might use social media. Teachers have their own opinions about how a classroom should be taught, either by giving a lecture, a hands on activity or connecting a material with the real world. There are some teachers who use controversial techniques to teach a material in the classroom,…

The concept of education is how to learn, understand material, and knowledge that is taken in. Through education certain values and beliefs are developed. These beliefs, habits, and skills shape a student’s character. There are two controlling factors that come into play when discussing the concept of education; one is the teacher and the other is the student. As illustrated in Richard Feynman’s article, “O Americano Outra Vez,” a student’s learning focus is overwhelmingly influenced by the teaching style they are subject too.…

Learning is multidimensional. Very seldom will a learner use just one type of learning style. There are four different learning styles: Visual, aural, read/write, kinesthetic and multimodal. Multimodal is a combination of two or more of the learning styles. Those who are multimodal in their preferences can be more flexible about how they take in and give out information than those with a VARK profile that emphasizes a single preference.…

For me, I am an experimentalist, experimentalism is the proper educational philosophy for me because I have the same beliefs and strategies. I think that it is important to try new things in teaching because every kid thinks and learns differently. As a teacher, you cannot be afraid to experiment and go out of your comfort zone with teaching strategies. There is going to be times when a teacher teaches a student something over and over again and they are just not getting it, this is when a teacher needs to try new teaching strategies and new ways for the student to learn the information. Teachers cannot get frustrated and give up on a student for not doing the work, they have to be able to make time for each student to find out the best ways that they learn.…

My relationship with private instruction as a whole has shaped my philosophy for living, and it has turned me into the person that I am today. I began my instruction early which helped to inspire me to maintain my studies into the advanced level. Consequently, I came to the Berklee college of music, where my relationship with private instruction continued to improve as my musicianship grew faster than ever before. Even before entering Berklee, my relationship with private instruction continued to grow through my own experience as a teacher; I was able to soon develop my own philosophies regarding the art of instruction. I began my instruction as a student of the Suzuki method on the violin at the age of ten.…

INCORPORATE DIFFERENT TEACHING STYLES: As mentioned, each student learns in different ways. Some students may be more visual than others, while some students may be more hands-on in terms of learning. By incorporating different teaching styles to accommodate ways of learning, not only do you ensure that each student is learning the material effectively, you also broaden students’ abilities.…

Suppose teachers can successfully identify their students’ learning style preferences, should they accommodate their teaching styles to the students’ preferences? Farr (1971) reported that their preferred learning styles paralleled their actual learning strength. In addition, Domino (1979) found that college students taught in preferred learning styles scored higher on tests. Selma (2009) also indicates that ESL teachers’ failing to adjust their teaching styles to students’ preference increased the students’ frustration considerably. It is quite reasonable to think that when students like something, they tend to go for it.…

Each teacher has his or her own method of teaching. No one teacher teaches the same way as another. These methods are manifested in a teacher’s education philosophy, or “the principles that guide professional action. ”(Parkay, 2015, p.114) A teacher creates his or her philosophy by examining his/her beliefs in a variety of categories, like what a teacher’s role should be, what a student’s role should be, and what should be taught.…

The teacher’s emphasis will change the way of one’s study. Effective teaching with its four components, knowledge, understanding, application and skill fulfilled, can definitely elevate one’s study habits.
