By having passion for the lesson, students feed off of that passion and in return, also feel excitement towards the task. When reading the book “Passionate Teacher” there were so many examples of teachers going the extra mile that is necessary to be a great teacher. One example of a passionate teacher that I have experienced, is my current Geology professor, Dr. Rex Wagner. From day one of class he was aware that majority of his students were not taking his class because they loved rocks, but because they needed to complete a science credit. Instead of having anger that students did not have the same passion as himself, he turned his class into a mission. Professor Rex was determined to make students have interest about at least one lesson in his classroom. He knew that it was unrealistic to make all his students change their majors to geology, but he did want his students to develop a level of respect for Geology. He has succeeded his mission.
