I am writing in regards to a high school position at your school I believe that my enthusiasm for Social Studies, students and learning would make me an excellent candidate for this position.

I believe as educators we are ourselves are constantly learning what works and what doesn’t work by our diverse students and it is essential as teachers to keep in mind the needs of each and every one of our students. I believe there is a misconception of incorporating culture in lesson planning because culture is not just acknowledging holidays, recipes, traditions or language but a cultivation of many aspects that mold and condition the student. For many young immigrants their teachers may be their first continuing contact with someone outside of their home, communities and culture and it is our jobs as educators to create a positive and accepting experience.
