Teaching Philosophy Statement

I believe an effective teacher has multiple different qualities that are strong and unique. An effective teacher is someone that students can look up to and feel comfortable around, but not too comfortable like a friend but comfortable as a teacher they can trust. Being a teacher has a lot of duties and responsibilities that not just anyone could have. An effective teacher should be approachable/ good listener, equally fair to their students, passion for being a teacher, organized/prepared, extremely knowledgeable about their subject matter and hands on with their students. Most importantly an effective teacher is a teacher who wants and does make a difference in their students lives. Passion is one of the most important qualities if you want to become an effective teacher. You, as a teacher have to have passion because you want to be able to be so interested in your career choice and knowledgeable. If you show your students the charisma and passion you have for teaching they will feel more comfortable and see that you want to be there for them and want them to succeed. Knowing your subject matter and being a strong teacher in the subject you are teaching is important as well because you want to teach your students all the correct ways they could succeed and become a better student. If you don’t listen to your students, then you will not be able to connect with them and help them when they are having problems. Being able to help your students achieve their goals is very important because you want, as a teacher for them to succeed. Another example would be if you see a problem occurring in your classroom you want to be able to be approachable and approach the situation and help the students solve the issue between one another or the problem they are
