Trump had asked what would happen in the case of an accidental shooting. If a teacher suspected a student to be an intruder, she may feel threatened and end up shooting the harmless student or staff member. This could lead to more shootings occurring with guns in the classroom than if the guns were removed and teachers prepared in other ways in the event of a mass shooting. Not only can a teacher mistake a student or staff member for an intruder, but students and staff can mistake an intruder as a teacher. If an intruder disguises himself as a teacher, the staff will believe that having a gun is logical, after all, the school did allow guns in the classroom.
