The principal of Teachers College Community School in West Harlem reportedly threw herself in front of an oncoming train after a whistleblower notified the New York City Department of Education that she had altered third-graders' test scores. According to the New York Post, Jeanene Worrell-Breeden's death April 17 came less than 24 hours after the DOE had been notified that the principal possibly tampered with Common Core exams. Common Core involves a series of tests used to determine a child's knowledge and skills in English and math. The tests also can have bearing on school staff evaluations. "The integrity of the assessment was compromised due to actions outside your child's control," Superintendent Gale Reeves wrote.

In the article, it states that “Bills are pending to carry out President Obama’s America’s College Promise proposal to make community colleges free to responsible high school graduates.”…

However, the Common Core has not released many sample questions or tests, because it anticipated that teachers would do such a thing. It is unclear, therefore, how teachers will teach their students or what additional resources they can…
