The points made in this section of the curriculum are used for teacher reflection. They are broad points, with zero details about how to address each of the points. A suggestion to make this portion of the curriculum more efficient in order to better aid educators, would be to break down each point and supply specific strategies. Under sections that say to use manipulatives and technology to enhance learning, a list of manipulatives should be provided. When asked to provide real life connections to help students utilize skills, a few real life examples should be given. Teachers have been trained, and are quite capable of developing teaching strategies and learning activities, but a more effective curriculum would provide specific examples inside the frameworks and ways to implement technology in each unit. The Common Core Standards are just one of many, which have been adopted by states and counties across the nation. The Columbia County School District is one of those districts that adopted and implemented the standards into its curriculum. The 7th grade math curriculum is the perfect example of the Common Core at work. As a curriculum analyst, I would say that the developers of this curriculum did a great job overall. However, there are a few components of the curriculum that could be improved on. The goals of the curriculum could be made more apparent and accessible to the public. Embedded Literacy and technology strategies should be more prevalent and play a more important role in the next modification of the curriculum. Each of these components were either missing or had very little information within the frameworks of the curriculum, due to this, the curriculum is not perfect. In time, through research and modifications, the curriculum could improve to be even more efficient in the education of the
