“THE TEACHER IS THE FOUNTAIN OF ALL KNOWLEDGE”. SORRY THAT WAS THEN.

Kitchen (n.d.) offered that teachers are no longer the fountain of all knowledge, not even the textbooks but rather the internet. He stated that students in today’s world have at their fingertips through the “click of few buttons on their smart phones” at their possession virtually all the time most information/knowledge. This same view was shared by Indian Express (2012) which noted that teachers are no longer the fountain of knowledge but the internet. He noted that students use the internet amongst others for information delivery and gathering.

Even though the role of teachers is still very pertinent in guiding, teaching, directing, mentoring students etcetera however the world at large students inclusive have developed the confidence that a good chunk of the information/knowledge they require on any subject can be sourced from the internet and they need not only really on their teachers/textbooks unlike in the past.
