Many teachers who dedicate their lives preparing adolescents for future educational purposes should be recognized. They should be a very understanding person who is helpful and acts as a role model toward their students. As a member of the committee, I hope you choose a teacher who possesses these qualities. Such as, Mr. Yu who deserves to be nominated for the Teacher Hall of Fame.

To begin with, Mr. Yu is a compassionate and sympathetic person. In other words, he shares common feeling with others. For instance, if you were not able to complete an assignment, due to personal issues, he will extend the due date without getting upset. When I was a student in his class, two years ago, he never raised his voice. Moreover, he would make sure to treat you fairly and put himself in your position. This would give him the opportunity to see your point of view. Mr. Yu understood that we wanted to be treated with respect at not have to be yelled at when we were misbehaving. In return, we presented him with an equal amount of regard. Thus, his apprehensive personality was greatly appreciated by me and every other student.

In many discussions with my administrator, I have come to realize that teacher attendance is becoming a problem at our school. In the past the teachers have had to find their own substitute, but a new program now does it for them. It is much easier to just submit an absence as opposed to having to call a list of potential substitutes until one agrees to fill in. In an attempt to encourage teachers to attend school whenever possible and recognize the teachers who have a good attendance record, I created the Postman award.…

Along with these supports, I was extremely impressed by the way Mrs. Flinn handled classroom management. Even though I observed during a very exciting week, she had great control over her students.…
