Tcnj Characteristics

I believe the best way to describe a typical TCNJ student is in one word - talented. Throughout my multiple visits at the college it’s never surprising to find someone on the lawn painting at a level to impress Monet or hear something amazing play coming from the windows of Mayo Hall. Out of all the schools in New Jersey my heart remains set on TCNJ because it’s an institution with a personality. There is a perfect balance of academics and opportunity that many schools are striving to achieve. The rigor of a class at TCNJ is worth every single ounce of effort in high school but even then there is no guarantee of smooth sailing and I am ready for a challenge.
Yet the growth at TCNJ isn’t solely intellectual but socially enriching because the

TCU is great fit for me because it is a smaller university. I like how TCU has less than 9,000 undergraduates and has a 13 to 1 student to faculty ratio. This means students will get more individual attention. The city of Fort Worth seems to be a great college town and TCU has great school spirit, which both work well together to offer a great college experience. TCU is a great fit for me because it has an encouraging learning environment that will allow me to excel in my studies and grow as a…

Being a TCU horned frog feels right for many reasons. TCU affords me the opportunity to move away from my hometown, Waco, it allows me to select from any of the majors I've considered; it provides me all of the resources I need to learn and excel; and it means I get to cheer on one of the best football teams in the nation, all while being in a faith-growing environment. I found, during my campus tour, the aspect I was most impressed by was the TCU spirit. Every student my tour group encountered wore a prideful smile, excitedly greeting their peers and every now and then one would yell a “Go frogs!”.…

The best way to describe Andrew Middleton playing basketball is to compare him to a lion on the hunt. Although a lion isn’t the smallest animal, Andrew is a six foot four freshman, a lion is extremely stealthy and can sneak quietly up on it’s pray, and in a matter of seconds, the hunt is over. Middleton is not a man of many words, but he lets his actions speak loudly on the basketball court. Andrew is a freshman at Thomas College in Waterville, Maine. In the first inters-quad scrimmage at Thomas the one play that sticks out in my mind was when Thomas Senior guard and MMBCWA first team all-state player of the year, nonchalantly took a shot only to get it shoved back down his throat by the quite Middleton who acted like it was no big deal, because to him, it probably wasn’t.…

The story Whale Talk by Chris Crutcher discusses the topic of letting kids slide through school, as long as they are benefiting the school's sports teams, like the mens UConn basketball team has been doing recently. The conflict of prioritizing sports before school is a prominent issue in the book Whale Talk as it is in the real world, specifically on the men’s UConn basketball team. T.J. refuses to participate in school athletic teams because he hates the fact that athletes are granted special privileges because of their positions on a team. Crutcher shows T.J.’s dislike for the school's athletic department when he says, “Cutter is such a jock school. They pray before games and cajole you to play out of obligation, and fans scream obscenities…

Archbishop Mitty is my first choice for high school. There are three main reasons why I want to attend Mitty: academic excellence, involvement in the Mitty community, and school spirit. With its reputation for strong academics, Mitty is a great place for an ambitious student like me. I am excited to challenge myself with honors and AP classes. I am also eager to have more math, science, and world language classes available to me than at my middle school.…

I believe TCU is a great fit because I think it is the perfect school for me to develop into a productive adult. It is a prestigious school that honors discipline and hard-work which I believe are two characteristics I can work on. The level of education is also held at a high standard and I believe I can become a part of that. The campus also seems to be very friendly and welcoming and appears to be a school I can adjust to. I like the fact that it is a small campus which allows more individual…

I chose to attend the University of Central Oklahoma because I loved the area, and I felt that this college has a great atmosphere. It feels as if any freshman can come onto this campus, and adapt themselves within the first few minutes of being here. I find it very convenient that there is a vast majority of activities and clubs to get involved in, so no one feels like an outsider. The whole environment just rubs off on you in a good way. It's everything I wanted when I pictured living on a college campus.…

I play on the women's collegiate softball team at St. Thomas University. I have been playing softball since I could walk and, along with every other athlete, my dream is to play on the biggest and brightest stage possible. For softball that is the NCAA College World Series. Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to make millions of dollars playing professional softball like many other professional athletes. This is it for me because college is the highest level of softball I will play in my life and I don't want to settle at a school where I know my athletic ability and hard work could get me so much further.…

National Junior Honor Society has been a dream for me over the course of my school career. However, I never thought I’d be able to make it come true. During my life I’ve seen notable examples of leadership, scholarship, service, citizenship, and character in this world and they’ve influenced me as a person and through NJHS I can make each of these pillars more of a part of my life. Leadership, to me, is being someone anyone can look up to. You don’t have to be the strongest, or the smartest, or any of those.…

Today, June 18th, 2017, marks the last day of my first week of college at Paul Quinn College and I am proud to say, “I survived”. Committing to Paul Quinn was a really big decision for me because this school is a 17 hour drive away from my home in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. I was afraid that I might get homesick or that I would not have the support of my family because I would be so far away from home. Soon, after visiting the Dallas campus, I realized that Paul Quinn was the school for me. This is the school where I will grow as an individual and I have come to that realization in my first week of college through the many conversations with upperclassmen, faculty, alumni and summer bridge students.…

` I expect or hope from Kentucky Wesleyan to make lifelong friends, memories, and to receive a quality education to move on to either a masters or graduate program. Even though freshman orientation this past weekend made me feel like I went to church camp, I liked meeting the other freshman that entering this new stage of life as well. Just knowing that 100+ others out there struggling along with me makes college a little bit more bearable. Just within the past week I’ve become pretty close with the other incoming freshman softball girls, and slowly becoming more involved with the older girls. I’m hoping to make my softball career in college as successful as my high school career, but I know with that comes twice the work and determination as it did before.…
