Taylor Swift There is no denying the impact Taylor Swift has had on the music industry. Her music, songwriting, and attitude toward it all deserve a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. From her critically acclaimed lyrics to the sold-out-in-minutes World Tours, this young singer/ song-writer is making leaps and bounds in music. So far she has five studio albums that have been released every two years. The media may swarm her for her personal life but she is an artist that is all about the music and positively influencing her fans.
From the beginning of her career she has been able to play her own guitar and piano. Throughout her tours she has performed playing a ukulele, banjo, and drums as well. Swift’s first album, self-titled, was released in 2006 when she was just seventeen. She wrote “Love Story” (2007) when she was eighteen and it became the first country song to hit #1 on the Top 40

“I Write Sins” was a mega hit and its music video won the band an MTV Music Award. PATD switched to a 1960s-influenced band for their second album “Pretty. Odd.” in 2008 (Contact Music). By 2013, the lead singer Brendon Urie was the only member left of the band and was free to change in creative direction. In 2016 he released “Death of a Bachelor” which holds a strong Frank Sinatra influence, mixed with modern Rock. Urie has worked hard to make PATD an eclectic and successful band. His musical image, creativity, and vocal range are impeccable. Every album has been unique to itself and shows the musical growth of the members. Based on their track record, PATD is not stopping anytime soon and fans will continue to get new, unique, theatrical music. For all of these reasons I think Panic at the Disco deserves a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of

It is self evident that Frank Sinatra has inspired countless artists in todays music world from all diverse genres of music. The two pieces of music I will be comparing are Panic! At the Disco’s “Death of a Bachelor” and Frank Sinatra’s “My Way”. Both, “Death of a Bachelor” and “My Way” are portrayed in different ways, but both songs are in relation to an end of an era. Although the song “Death of a Bachelor” was not inspired by a specific Sinatra song, Panic! was inspired by Sinatra’s compelling use of vocal techniques and his voice as a whole.…

The media perceives Taylor Swift as nothing more than a clingy, manipulative, and crazy young woman who jumps from relationship to relationship. Being the lyrical genius she is, Swift created the song "Blank Space" in 2014 to defend her position with this preconceived notion. She uses many rhetorical devices to explain her position in this argument against the media. With the beneficial use of rhetorical devices, Taylor Swift shows that boys will only stay if it is worth a fight, and that she is fully conscious of the media representation.…

Her album Taylor Swift is country whereas 1989 is mainstream pop. The country style approach that Swift uses on her first album depicts feelings of sadness and evokes a lot of emotion. She uses many acoustic tones which dispenses a certain vibe from her music. The tones that can be heard are softer and not as solid compared to her new style of music. The audience can hear the lack of self-confidence just by the sounds of the chords and the tempo of the music in the majority of the songs featured in her first album.…
