In today’s world, we constantly come across different forms of advertisement through different platforms such as, Print, Internet, Radio, and TV. Depending on how advertisers choose to present their product may affect consumers in a positive or negative way. Advertisers use signs of cultural desires and consciousness in their ads, to inform consumers about their product or service while also trying to persuade them to buy it. In one particular Taylor Swift ad, advertisers use techniques such as association, product placement, and claims in their commercial in order to convey enough emotion so consumers buy their service.
Taylor Swift’s career has transformed her into a huge cultural desire which is why she was chosen to become the face of Apple Music. Taylor commercial released on her Instagram with a caption of “Getting ready to go out” and shouting out her sponsors Apple Music and Jimmy Eat World. The opening scene of the commercial zooms in on Taylor’s day-to-day life as she is choosing a playlist to listen to as she gets ready. Taylor’s playlist is so distracting she uses her trademark lipstick as a microphone and dances around her bathroom while she is lip-syncing the ultimate middle school

Since the ad was released on her Instagram the viewership is most likely her fan base who will feel most inspired and emotionally connected by a rare insight view of Taylor’s day-to-day life. The symbolic association with this advertisement is Taylor Swift herself.
