After math class, I asked my friend to go out and eat, and he started with “What will we eat today?” I said we can go for In and Out hamburger. He mumbled that’s a junk food. At that time, I was confused, I didn’t have any theory of Junk Food. That question follows me a while and I want to discover about junk food. What is junk food? Everyone have twenty-four hours a day to work, sleep, eat, etc. However, day-by-day, a lot of requirements make us feel stress and busy to have time to prepare healthy, nutritious meals that’s why we need fast food service. It doesn’t cost much time for us when ordering or buying a junk food. We only need to make a call or drive thru and wait a few minutes, then the food is ready to eat. After four weeks, Morgan Spurlock’s health, the character of this documentary was damaged significantly and the doctor warned him if he still continued doing it, his health would be in serious issue. In fact, one bad meal can affect our health. According to research published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, when we sustain to eat unhealthy fats and sugar that increase the risk of heart attack in long term. However, the effects of short term are to “becomes inflamed (as occurs when it is infected), your blood vessels constrict, damaging free radicals are generated, your blood pressure may rise higher than normal, a surge and drop in insulin may leave you feeling hungry soon after your meal”. According to Elaine Magee, MPH, RD, nationally known as “The Recipe Doctor, nutrition expert and writer for WebMD”, she emphasized that we should avoid soda and sweetened beverages. Choosing more vegetables is a good choice when we order only meat for our meal. Buying products that are low in in sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, milled grains, and partially hydrogenated oils. Limit time for watching TV because TV ads will attract our kids and ourselves. To sum up, although junk food has never been a healthy food for us, with the busy schedule we have to choose it as a quick solution. It will become a bad habit and disrupt that habit requires a lot of time. So, most people like to stick to that solution.
However, we still can change if we plan to intake healthy we can do that. Once again, junk food doesn’t kill our family and us immediately, but it will damage our health day by day. Therefore, eating more vegetable, drinking less soda and sweetened beverages, doing exercise regularly, going to check up for health every six months keep in staying healthy. After doing this research, if my classmates ask me to intake junk food, I will give my friends, family many tips about how will junk foods damage their health. Then I will reduce habit of eating junk food and replace by healthy food day by
