The Clarion-Ledger states “ Spokesman Kell Smith for the state Community College Board, says the shortfall would mean a reduction of $3.7 million to be spread across the state’s 15 community colleges” (Pender). Lots of community college employees could be losing their teaching jobs over the summer of 2017. No one knows exactly who is going and who is staying yet but Pender states “ It is up to each institution on how it handles the cut”. The State claims they do not have the money to pay each employee, but they can spend money on unnecessary “investments”. They should focus on the things that will further the knowledge of the world. I believe teachers could possibly be the most important person that any individual could meet. Teachers prepare doctors, lawyers, and engineers how to do everything that is necessary to obtain the degree they are working toward. Some of these patients could be pronounced mentally insane, have to serve depression, or have nerve related issues. Those that live in the government assisted faculties could see a change in they way they live their daily lives. Most of these individuals never had the opportunity to work a regular 9 to 5 job and provided for others. A spokesman for the Department of Mental Health claimed “ Mental Health agencies have cut programs and services over the last calendar year to absorb the effect of the new budgets” (Clarion-Ledger). In order to confront these budget cuts, the government is decreasing the amount of space allowed to house and help others. There is a great possibility that the patients that call these rehabs home could lose their living quarters. Some would never make it outside the doors of those health centers and should be the greatest concern to these programs. I believe they should not deprive these individuals of happiness if they have lived in these areas for long periods of
