Tax Accountant Job Overview

A tax accountant is responsible for the examination and analysis of individual or organizational financial records related to taxation. He or she ensures that the records are complete, accurate, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to federal, provincial or territorial, and municipal tax policy.
Tax Accountant Job Education Requirements

The first step in becoming a tax accountant is earning an undergraduate degree from a four-year university. The degree need not be specific to finance or accounting, but without an educational foundation in these areas, additional training will be necessary. Those interested in a career in tax accounting also need to pass a certification
