Tattoos Should Be Allowed In The Workplace Essay

Mixing Pens and Ink Most people probably have heard some controversy about tattoos being a taboo in the workplace. More than not, businesses tend to enforce rules that require employees who are sporting tattoos to cover them up completely while they are at work. Some people say this is so to not offend anyone by viewing the tattoos. Tattoos have been deemed unprofessional, and to some people, tattoos are something that should never be visible at work or in a professional setting; however, to others tattoos are pure art and have a great deal of meaning to one's life. To those people, it would seem offensive to be asked to hide these picturesque pieces of art that mean so much to their lives. Tattoos are an art and should not be deemed unprofessional, or be banned from the workplace. To most people tattoos mean something quite special to them. Sometimes a person will even take years to decide exactly how they want one. They are an outlet of expression and a form of art that should not be used to stereotype someone into a group. Tattoos let a person feel like they can be themselves and show their creative and imaginative side. They are conversation starters and are always intriguing to observe. When a person has a tattoo they can literally carry a piece of art with them everywhere they go. They can tell their stories of what makes them the person they are by telling their associates about the experiences behind their tattoos.
