Target Reflection

Decent Essays
Looking back on the 4 months I’ve been employed at Target I feel that I have made great improvement. At first, communications was not my strongest attribute; however, after a lot of work, I have become a better communicator to my co-workers and our guest. One of my core strengths is my tone, even though I am still continuing to learn the systems the guest feel confident in me. Another improvement that I’ve made is when I have difficult situations and decisions to make, I maintain a positive outlook. I am improving on how to understand the guest by listening and extracting the details which make a big difference when dealing with the guest issue.

I am working on improving my tendency to ask for help from other co-works more frequently than

My responsibility for this workshop was to proceed with a handover of a patient to an intern (played by Dr. Michael Adamson). This was a particularly disasterous session. My performance was not only unfit within the scope of academic criteria, but was clearly short of acceptable for a real-world SBAR. During the reading of the scenario I was daunted by the task of having to SBAR report a patient to admission at a hostpital, based on information I was reading for the first time; my practice with the hand-over system was minimal prior to the session.…

While looking through stacks of pictures I realize how important the memories in the photos are to me. One particular photo, from ninth grade, is especially significant to me not because of how I or my friends look, but because of how much my life has changed in the few years since I began high school. Walking through the doors of Bartram trail High School my first day freshman year was the start of who I was and who I would become. Today and I am a bigger and better person than I was the first day of high school as I have become the person I wish to be and I have high school to thank for that, but more importantly I have Link Crew to thank. Link Crew is a part of the Project Boomerang program created for freshmen, designed to help freshmen adjust from middle school to high school with assistance from upperclassmen who are able to share insight about their high school experiences.…

I would like to thank you for beautiful novel Airborn, for it has truly inspired me. Intrigued by the quick summary on the back of the book, I took it upon myself to read the book itself. I grew attached to the characters, and I found myself unable to put the book down at times. I loved how I could somehow relate to each character throughout the novel, whether they were small similarities or rather big ones. Each character stood out to me in a unique way that changed the way I think and inspired me to act as they do.…

I redirected Alex’s manners when foster parent and I were talking. I shared with Alex the details of the visit after Alex what he could receive of he is “good “during the visit. Alex and I went to Books-A-Million to work on his coping skills and interactions with peers and adults. I asked Alex questions to observe his body language, the use of coping skills and responses. Reflection paper A report from The Institute of Medicine’ s (IOM) report demands on nurses to play a more prominent part in America 's inexorably intricate health care framework (ANA, 2011). Nurses and most of the nursing organizations profoundly recognizes the IOM for its recently discharged report on the nursing profession and recognizes the requirement for nurses to play an administration part in all settings to meet the requests of our moving health care framework. Many of the elements and proposals of the “IOM Report on the Future of Nursing” are reflected in our enduring work to propel the nursing profession (ANA, 2011). The “IOM report” has 8 recommendations (Institute of Medicine, 2011).This paper will explain this author’s feeling…

Over the course of studying E214 I have thought greatly about my own practice working as an HLTA in a mainstream primary school, where I mainly work with children that experience barriers to learning. These barriers are due to the children having special educational needs or due to having English as an additional language. I now question whether the children I work with are part of a system that has created othering and if through them being othered they included as fully as possible or are they still subject to exclusion through the barriers they experience when accessing the national curriculum or through their progress not being as high as expected by society. (online unit 17) The focus of education appears to be about the grades and progress…

An example of an outreach effort that I conducted to an unreached group at the University of Maine was one focused on Greek Life students. When arriving at UMaine it came to my attention that the IV chapter there had been trying to reach the Greek students on campus but hadnt been very sucessful. This is a group of students who I have a special heart for and knew that the mutual nenifitial relationship they could have with the IV chapter. I first had a conversation with the IV staff Jon Kennerson about how I would be speaking at our regions Greek getaway later in the semester and I would love to try to get some Greek students from Maine to be able to attend. We talked about ideas I had about reaching the students, a goal for how many I would like to ideally brign to the…

Using the 5 dynamics tool, I discovered several working style characteristics about myself that I really had not previously thought about. The application of this new knowledge will improve the way that I work with other people in my education, my career and in my personal life. For example, I learned that if I partner with others whose strength and weakness are different from mine, working together as a whole we will obtain better results than we will if we work separately. Furthermore, I learned that each team member brings different strengths to the project thereby producing a more balanced result. As a result of taking the 5 dynamics assessment, I discovered that I have valuable strengths that are especially beneficial in developing…

The lessons the workshop taught the children that went through it was invaluable. We hope that we as adults show our children learn from us the mistakes of the past and treat people equally. A lot of times unfortunately people have stigmata’s either put on them by society because of how they look or they put them on themselves and people treat them differently. The lessons that this workshop teaches are lessons that everyone should have. You can spend our entire life trying to instill the values in your children that this class does in two days, and I want my children to be kind to people as we all do; I do not want them to ALIENATE someone because they are not the same as them, different ETHNITICIY or part of a MINORITY GROUP.…

The concepts delivered throughout the management problem-solving course have provided me with valuable simulated real-life experiences which can be applied in my everyday work life as a HR Administrator with aspirations of progressing my career. The course delivery was such that as a student, I was able to use my existing knowledge and skills, in addition to that of my peers, to analyse and explore complex organisational problems. This course has challenged the way I think and deepened my understanding of the problem-solving process, which has enabled me to perceive issues from new perspectives, I once would not have considered.
