The product main purpose will be transportation and may be used for the movement of goods. The target market of the organization for this line of product are adults with a driving license, therefore 18 plus. Due to the cost of the product, we are targeting people who live in the city and can afford the cars. Middle Class. The purchase of this vehicle will not be impacted by climate. More target market will be living in urban areas. Rural areas will be cheaper cars or no cars, at least not GM made Chevrolets and Cadillac. American Cars are not easy to come by in Colombia and not many other than GM are available there. That is what makes the product unique and one of a kind. It is also very important how we go about product positioning. The price we set will impact the way the consumers think about the product. This is a good way to position ourselves well with the right price.
Price change is always important and will impact product’s sales, but it all depends on the range of change. If it is a drastic change then yes, because even though the GM quality speaks well, if our price is above (extremely above) competitors price then a lot of consumers will leave and jump ships. All in all, every company’s sales are very sensitive to prices changes.

One always needs a car, transportation is the most important aspect of life, and how will you get from one place to another? How will you do anything if you can’t transport. Transportation is easiest when it is in the comfort of your very own car. The largest portion of the population is between the ages 25-29. That is an age where driving is legal and you finally have enough money to buy your very own car. With 77% of the population living in urban areas, where having a car is common for one to not have a car is a hassle. Money will not be an issue. With a 94% literacy rate the, future is looking bright. This is a smart country with intelligent people who will go university and get good jobs. Good jobs pay good money. Up to now we have 25-29 years with reasonable income living in urban “car common areas”.
The organization has a lot of strengths, but there are also opportunities, over 300 000 cars are sold each year giving the automobile a vast command for the product. Competitors Renault and Mazda, have not been tightening their grip very well and GM has pounced. Colombia is also fairly close by, meaning shipping cost are lower and much more time efficient. With more product imported into Colombia, more man power will be needed at GM Colmotores, providing jobs. GM has worked to get back on its feet and become number in Colombia.
