Tara Westover and Educated: A Memoir Born in 1986 and raised in a family at the foot of Buck’s Peak in the Rocky Mountains in Idaho, Tara Westover, an American author and historian, had never studied in the classroom or even seen a doctor or nurse when she got ill until she was seventeen years old. There are seven children in Tara’s family, and Tara is the youngest one. Who should receive much love from her parents and elder brothers and sisters was abused by her brother Shawn and was treated strictly by her parents because they are devout Mormons.
