Tapirs have a one of a kind appearance and special eating habits. These remarkable animals look like anteaters and once in a while people mistake them as pigs. Tapirs are hoofed mammals. Hoofed mammals are just mammals with hooves on their feet. One characteristic that they have, and numerous other animals do not, is their short and fleshy snout.
