Cyprus Spring, Blue Spring, Crystal Springs, White Spring, and the Spring of Life are the five springs Zephyrhills gets their water from. After the water is extracted from the springs it is transported to one of the treatment plants for purification. Once there the water goes through two to three stages of filtering and disinfecting to meet state and federal regulations. The purified water is then bottled and the bottles are closely monitored throughout bottling. Special codes are given to each bottle so it can be traced back to the factory it was bottled in and which specific line in the factory the bottle came off of. A few of the other companies that use purified spring water are Crystal Geyser, Mountain Valley, and Evian. Some bottled water companies use public water supplies as their water source. Dasani is one of these companies. Dasani, owned by Coca-Cola, draws water from a public source. Much like Zephyrhills, Dasani purifies the water after obtaining it from the source. The water is filtered through a process called reverse osmosis. Reverse osmosis is when the substance in question is forced through a semipermeable membrane in the opposite direction of natural water flow. This process rids the water of any impurities that may be left over after the tap water purification process. This means, despite being drawn from the same source, Dasani bottled water is cleaner than tap

But rather than put the treated water out to sea, workers send it through an elaborate system of pipes, filters, and tanks, where it undergoes a purification process.
