“Tank Man” and What Happened In Tiananmen Square All throughout history we’ve seen pictures of men and women who have fought and tried their best to get what they thought was right for the people. They become known among the people and are a big part of history. “Tank Man” In contrast, is the man that fought unanimously. He had a great impact among the chinese people and around the world yet, no one knew who he was or even what he was. “ Tank Man” as many people call, him is a perfect example of how any ordinary person can protest not only without using violence but also they did it without anyone's help and he did it because he knew what was right for him and the community itself.

All they wanted was a more democratic chinese government.This students went through a lot of things to accomplish this goal they all had. “For three straight weeks this students kept up daily Vigils, marched and chanted” (“Tiananmen Square Massacre takes place”). All the protest were peaceful and it didn't seem like there was going to be any fatalities of any sort of violent. But then the government decided to impose Martial law in china. This meant that now the chinese government was being controlled by the chinese military. This was supposed to help control all the protest taking place at Tiananmen Square but in reality this didn't help at all. Everything seem to be going okay until military personnel started shooting and killing protesters at Tiananmen Square . “On June 4, 1989, however, Chinese troops and security police stormed through Tiananmen Square, firing indiscriminately into the crowds of protesters.”(“Tiananmen square Massacre takes place”). It didn't take the military long to turn what was a peaceful protest with students that meant no harm to other people, into a bloody and deathly massacre that let many speechless and hurt for losing their loved ones.“Some of the students ran for their life while others fought back stoning and attacking troops, over turning and setting fire to military vehicles.” (“Tiananmen square massacre takes
