Tangerine is a book written by Edward Bloor. The characters have many choices to make, which each have a very strong impact on one another. In this book, Paul meets many different people, some being nice to him and some being rather mean. Paul is almost completely blind, and has to wear goggles in order to see. He decides to be on a soccer team at his school, Lake Windsor Middle. He than has to move to Tangerine middle school and join a different soccer team. His many experiences in this book changes who he is at the end. I think that the choices of Erik Fisher has negatively impacted Paul, Erik has caused Paul to lose his vision and wear very thick goggles, and because of Erik’s choices, Paul now thinks of Erik as a terrible person.

One of the things that Erik has chosen to do to Paul is helping spray paint his eyes, “And I remembered Erik’s fingers prying my eyelids open while Vincent Castor sprayed white paint into them” (Tangerine, 263-264). Because of his brother, he will be forever blind and have to wear special goggles wherever he goes. He will never want to even be near or talk to his brother ever again. The good effect of Paul being spray painted is he finally stood up for himself, “Dad tried to regain control. "Listen, there are questions that need to be answered about tonight." I exploded. "No! No, sir!"

Erik did this to Tino because of what Tino said about him, “Yeah. I really like that thing you do, Funny Guy, when you pretend to kick a football and then you go flyin’ up in the air and then you land right on your ass” (Tangerine, 205). Because of this incident Paul now looses his friend Tino. In the future Paul might have trouble making new friends, because anyone who meets him will know about his brother and what he
