In the book Tangerine you follow the life of Paul Fisher, a misfit kid moving to Florida. This exciting book is written by Edward Bloor who, just like Paul loved soccer and now lives in Florida. The author reveals that bullies cannot remain bullies without the help of parents and other community members as revealed through the plot of the novel, Tangerine.
I think that Erik is a bully and troubled teen due to him feeling unloved by his parents. For example on page 3 it says this “Then …show more content…
Another example is “Erik opened a pizza box, pulled out a slice, and started stuffing it into his mouth.” (10). This was example of how Erik was rude and felt unloved by his parent because he should have been taught correct manners.
These examples show how Erik is rude and feels unloved by his parents.
I believe that Erik is also a coward who will never fight fair. Erik is a coward because he only pick fights against children, when he is challenged he has someone else handle what he can't. Page 205 says “Immediately, faster than I thought he could, faster than Tino thought he could, Erik lashed out, smashing the back of his hand across Tino’s face, smashing him so hard that Tino spun halfway around in the air and landed on the grass.”
This is an example of how Erik is a coward because he only fights people he know will be an win.
Another example is on page 113 when it says “What are they talking about? Who’s mohawk man? ”This is when Joey is asking Paul about the cruel jokes Erik and Arthur were making about Mike’s lightning stuck
