A choice made by Mrs. Fisher affected Paul by making him go to new places. Mrs. Fisher made Paul go along with the rest of the family and moved from Houston, Texas to Tangerine, Florida. In the novel, “Tangerine” it says, “By now it should be over halfway to our new address-a place called Lake Windsor Downs in Tangerine County, Florida.” (page 4) This indicates that the Fishers are now moving from one place to another. “You saw me play in Houston.” (page 64) This is where the Fishers lived before they moved to Florida. Fisher made this choice because she was nosy and wanted a tour of the school so she brought up Paul's eyesight to get one. “We were hoping to see exactly where Paul will be going next week. He has problems with his eyesight-he’s legally blind-so we were hoping to get a dry run today.”(page 25) Paul's reaction to this is he left the office. The IEP affected him later on because when he was trying out for Lake Windsor Middle soccer team Coach Walski told Paul he was not eligible so he can't be on the team. “ I’m sorry to tell you this, Paul, but you're not eligible for the program.” (page 62) This lead Paul to burst out crying.
