Taming Of The Shrew Narrative Analysis

Improved Essays
My narrative takes after The Office but also ties in Taming of the Shrew with the theme. I decided to make Angela have Katherine’s part because she seems like she’d make a good shrew. She shares a lot of the same characteristics with Kate, sharp-tongued, mean to everyone, doesn’t care about anyone, and doesn’t care for marrying someone. Andy is going to be Petruchio who tries to win Angela’s love and hand in marriage, kind of what originally happens in the show. Angela is also going to play Bianca’s part, Dwight will be Lucentio, and both him and Andy (Petruchio), will be trying to make Angela theirs. The scene will take place in the office, when Andy is trying to get Angela to marry him but she keeps refusing, but afterward, Dwight steps in and tries to get …show more content…
Angela sites down with her lunch and grins, slightly, but a grin that you could tell she’s loving all the attention these two men are giving her, she loves to play with these guys’ feelings. Andy is still trying to think of ways he could get Angela to marry him, he really does like her a lot, even though she’s as aggressive as a shrew. Dwight comes up to Andy and, just like Angela, tells him off with insults and with bitter uses of words. The two go on and pretty much fight like cats and dogs. “Andy, I heard you want to marry Angela.” “Yes I do, what are you gonna do about it?” “Well Andy, I’ll have you know that I actually know Angela likes me better and if I ask her to marry me she will obviously say yes.” “Dwight, you’re like a pigeon, you’re literally dumb. Angela just likes you because you give you everything, she told me you asked her to marry you and she denied, she doesn’t care about

Based on the what was learned about trust in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, trust is the most basic trait needed in everyday life. Without it, things cannot set into motion. Aslan is portrayed as a great ruler of Narnia, kind and merciful, just as lions were known to be in medieval folklore. He is trusted by the inhabitants of Narnia to lead them out of the Witch’s evil rule. The fact that C.S. Lewis was expressing his opinions and showing the value of trust in the story through the characters is shown in my interpretation of the several events in the…

    C. S. Lewis beautifully portrays the story of the Crucifixion and Resurrection in a fiction setting in such a way that Christians see the parallels and are reminding of the ultimate sacrifice but people who are not familiar with Jesus still can take something away from Lewis's story, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Throughout the Chronicles of Narnia, C. S. Lewis weaves Biblical themes into the characters' lives. The most prominent story Lewis uses is the Crucifixion of Jesus when he pens Edmunds betrayal and Aslan's sacrifice. When Edmund enters the mystical land of Narnia for the first time, he meets the White Witch who claims to be the true queen of Narnia even though his younger sister, Lucy, has been told of the real ruler of Narnia,…

Today is going to be just like any other day, I sketched in my morning journal. The morning Baltimore sun shone past the skyscrapers of downtown, and light protruded through the silk blinds that covered half of the picture window in my room. I rose up from my queen bed. The sheets had become untucked and the comforter lay halfway off the edge. My back rested against the mahogany headboard with my head fitting perfectly between two of the wooden posts.…

Literature is a wonderful thing; it explores the relationships between humans and their nature, historical events, and can be used to express one’s creativity. It can also be used to give moral guidance; this was Arthur Miller’s reasoning behind writing The Crucible. In this dramatic retelling of the Salem trials, Miller ensnares his reader with stories of adultery, betrayal, and material greed. His intention, however, is not to entertain with operatic drama. This play is a cautionary tale about finger pointing and its potentially fatal consequences.…

The Brothers Grimm version of the fairy tale “Cinderella” is a perfect example of a person’s journey from dark to light, or, as Tatar says it, “a way out of the woods back to the safety and security of home.” (Behrens and Rosen 254) While there are many versions of the story across different cultures, this variant describes the journey not only for Cinderella, but for the desired path of the stepsisters as well. The idea of Cinderella being a story of a journey comes from Tatar’s idea, which is “fairy tales are up close and personal, telling us about the quest for romance and riches, for power and privilege, and, most important, for a way out of the woods back to the safety and security of home.” (Behrens and Rosen 254)…
