You May Never Leave Tamaya — Except to Go to the Beach

Or to go to work, or to school. Or a doctor’s appointment. Or to the grocery store…

Yes, we’re being facetious. But ICI Homes’ master-planned community located just west of downtown Jacksonville and east of Jacksonville Beach, personifies the term “all-inclusive.” It boasts amazing amenities, an ideal location and the attention to neighborhood details that we, as Florida’s Custom Builder, are renowned for.

The beach lies six miles east. The University of North Florida is only 5 miles away. The St. Johns Town Center shopping enclave is six miles southwest, as is Interstate 295 — Jacksonville’s beltway that links you with I-95, Florida’s main north-south artery, and with I-10, its east-west artery that begins in “JAX” and ends at the Pacific Ocean in Malibu, California.

What You’ll Find Here

Let’s start with the 10,000-square-foot Resident’s Club. It is a community center, but banish all those “rec room” stereotypes. The great room — light and airy with sculpted wooden ceiling beams — offers plush seating, versatile furnishings and light-magnifying windows. You’ll also find a clubroom, outdoor patio, covered porch and catering kitchen.

While the aesthetics are first rate, the space’s versatility can’t be beat. It’s as useful for grabbing a drink and catching up with a friend as it is to organize a 75-person meeting of your volunteer group.

The Resident’s Club overlooks a lake and anchors Tamaya’s other amenity hot spots. Which takes us

Just north of Key Biscayne in sunny Miami, Virgina Key is a protected barrier Island in the Atlantic ocean. Consisting of 863 acres of land, it was once much larger, extending into the Ft. Lauderdale area. Between 1835 and 1838 hurricanes eroded the beach, creating inlets and dividing the island in two. The other portion became Fisher Island, which sits at the southernmost tip of Miami Beach. Virgina Key was a part of the civil rights movement.…

Situated approximately 35 miles east of Orlando and with over 75 miles of beach along Florida’s Atlantic Coast, which stretches from Canaveral National Seashore south to Vero Beach, Florida’s Space Coast is sometimes characterized as a multigenerational destination, with incredible diversity from North to South. This diversity is evident through Space Coast’s designated towns: Cocoa Beach, Palm Bay, Melbourne, Port Canaveral, Melbourne Beaches, Titusville, and Viera. Its identity is drawn from the Kennedy Space Center, which was the public face of a NASA space program that concluded with the landing of the shuttle Atlantis in July of 2011. The region’s current appeal rests largely in its beautiful white sand beaches, rocket launches from the…

There is something paradoxical at play when a room cannot be used in the way it was intended. For example, when a public place is used for private purposes, that is an anomaly. This paper will examine why this is the case based on the purpose, observation, and irony surrounding a certain space. Spring Arbor couples have a strange attraction to a certain couch in the fireside room, causing the whole room to be unavailable while they are in it, disturbing its purpose as a community gathering place.…

Many things can represent the city of Miami to people. To me however, from daytime to nighttime, South Beach best illustrates what makes Miami different from almost every other city: diversity. Everything, from the sounds, feelings and tastes, to the smells and sights, makes one feel as though you are standing at the crossroads to the rest of the world. As you approach South Beach, crossing over the ocean on I-395, you can already hear multiple styles of music playing in the distance.…
