Because of my gymnastics background, I was significantly stronger than the majority of other 7th grade football players, so some aspects of the game came very easy to me from the start. I hated to lose more than anything. These losses pushed me to work even harder, so that in theory I would prevent losses by better contribute to my high school team. For the 4 years I played in high school, I gave everything I had to make myself the best player I could possibly be. More often than not, I would be the first person to arrive in

I had dreamed of being on the team from the very first day I heard about it; all of my friends were trying out with me; and we had grand plans for a year of non-contact, semi-athletic exertion ahead of us. Having been anxiously awaiting the lunch period when the team roster would be revealed, I was thusly dismayed, disappointed, and disheartened when my name was not one of the eighteen posted on the PE office door. My mother, in all her eternal wisdom, saw a way out of the pit of despair I had sunk into: Lusher was starting an Academic Games team, and she thought I might enjoy playing. I was more than somewhat hesitant; she was more than somewhat…
