After 18 other films and a ten-year wait, directors and brothers, Anthony and Joe Russo finally gave comic book fans the movie they’ve all been waiting for, Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Avengers: Infinity War brings all the fan favorite heroes together into one action-packed adventure. In the movie, Thanos (Josh Brolin) is scouring the entire universe to collect 6 infinity stones that different aspect of the universe: Space, Mind, Reality, Power, Time, and Soul. The Avengers unite together to prevent Thanos from obtaining all six. If Thanos is successful, he would be able to control everything in the universe at the snap of his fingers. In one of the defining moments of the movie, Thanos has obtained five of the six infinity stones. Wanda …show more content…
In the scene, Scarlet Witch had already begun using her powers to shatter the mind stone in Vision’s forehead and because of this she had to hold her ground as Thanos approached her from the other side. Scarlet Witch used one hand to continue to pressure the mind stone into rupturing and used her other hand to slow Thanos from reaching Vision. Scarlet Witch single handedly, literally, pushed the strongest villain in all the universe back with one hand long enough to destroy the infinity stone. Scarlet Witch is the only Avenger that was able to do this. All the other Avengers were defeated in various ways, for example, Captain America (Chris Evans) was grabbed in the middle of his attack, punched in the face, and thrown to the ground unconscious. Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), using one of Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr.) super suits, didn’t even get a chance to attack Thanos. As soon as Thanos saw Bruce approaching him, Thanos trapped him in the side of a rock formation. The only time the other Avengers came close to doing what Scarlet Witch did alone, was when Tony Stark, Spiderman (Tom Holland), Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), and Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), attempted to remove the gauntlet Thanos had that contained the infinity stones but putting him under hypnosis. But they failed due completely to Peter Quill inability to …show more content…
Tony Stark has a unique technologically advanced super suit capable of shooting missiles, flying to the brink of the atmosphere, and repairing itself when damaged. His suit failed when he was attacked by Thanos and he was left with a piece of his own suit lodged in his abdomen, to bleed out until Dr. Strange made a deal with Thanos to trade the time stone for Tony’s life. Bruce Banner used another one of Tony Stark’s suits and before he even got within five feet of Thanos, Banner was teleported into a rock formation where he was trapped. Captain America was pummeled into an unconscious pile in a single punch by Thanos. Black Widow with her assassin training and weaponry attached to her suit made no impact on the villain and was thrown onto the ground with one hand and pinned underneath a pile of

The creators of “Avengers: Age of Ultron” use the archetypal Byronic hero Tony Stark and allusions to the bible to convey the idea of war and peace and how there are different ways to achieve peace. Tony Stark’s traits are parallel to that of a Byronic hero, an antihero who is typically rebellious, arrogant, intelligent, self critical, and very passionate, which helps convey the theme of peace. In the movie, Stark’s vision of his friends all dead leads him to believe that the best way to help protect the world and his friends is to create something that could do the Avengers work. Stark was extremely passionate about creating Ultron to fill the Avengers’ shoes so that the “next time aliens role up to the club.. they couldn't…
