There are six different types of biomes on Earth. The taiga biome is one of these six biomes on Earth and it has distinct, different characteristics than the others. For instance, the taiga biome is only in specific areas. Some of those include North America, Asia, Europe, Alaska, Canada, Scandinavia, and Russia. The taiga biome is unique in its own way. Some of the taiga biomes characteristics are that it is mountainous. There is also lots of trees there. The land in the taiga biomes are pretty terrestrial, there are lots of little pebbles and rocks in the dirt. There is lots of lakes and rivers there ,so there is lots of water. Those are some of the taiga biome characteristics. All the different biomes have their own climate, and so does the taiga biome. The taiga biomes average temperature is 32 degrees fahrenheit. It’s in the summer when most of the rain comes to fill the lakes and rivers. The summers are also a bit humid and it snows in the winter. The average rainfall is 12- 33 inches. …show more content…

The most common plant in the taiga biome is the coniferous trees. The coniferous trees are also called evergreen trees, and they have long waxy needles. The taiga biome has a range of different animals too. The animals include foxes, lynxes, bears, minks, squirrels, wolves, caribou, reindeer, and moose.
