Tactical Maps Research Paper

Decent Essays
Tactical maps are usually used to predict new crimes. Of an offender who may have a pattern of repeating criminal activity. With tactical maps, you are able to wait for the next offense to happen in order to create a new map and help catch the offenders. In today’s society, law enforcement tend to rely more on this method and find that it is an effective way to pinpoint criminal activity in certain areas, where crime is usually reported to be high. Another plus to this theory is that is forced law enforcement to work closed with case detectives in order to catch offenders. Tactical maps are able to pinpoint the direct location, in where the offender is most like to strike when it comes to committing crimes. In my opinion, it tells the story

Battle Flag As I was scanning the topic list for another topic to write curiosity paper #3 on one article popper out at me called “Tom Petty on past Confederate flag use”. It is a relatively short article written by Andy Greene and published by Rolling Stones about why Tom Petty agrees with South Carolina’s decision to take the confederate flag down from their government buildings. Even though the timing of the lowering of the flag could have been a bit better, the country was torn between white on black violence, I still agree with the decision South Carolina legislature made.…

“It was truly a surprise when I found out I was assigned to the First Calvary Air Division upon arriving in Camron Bay, Vietnam. A surprise and the most prestigious honor” said Frank Pangborn as he sat formally in his seat sporting a tie, shoulder sleeve and wallet that had the First Calvary insignia imprinted. As a Vietnam War veteran, this division is one that brings great pride to not only Pangborn but to each and every soldier that dedicated a period of their life to serving this country. The First Calvary Division was established in 1921 and has had a tremendous influence in World War 2, the Korean War, Vietnam and in more recent years, the Middle East Wars in the 1990s, Iraq and Afghanistan. Their most notable success was during the Vietnam War but their impact over the…

The author states the JLTV completed the Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase (EMD) following competitive prototype demonstration through FY14 and FY152. A full-rate production request for proposals was drafted and the Army was planning to select a vendor in July, 20152. In If I Die in a Combat Zone,Tim O’Brien argued that the Vietnam war was instantiated with an unjust cause and was unnecessarily brutal through his depiction orders given my battalion leaders, how the soldiers treated children and adults in villages, and the soldier’s experience of being forced to fight in a war which they believed against while leaving everything they know back home. Commonly throughout the chapters where O’Brien is touring in Vietnam, a theme of orders given to (or knowledge not given to) O’Brien and his fellow soldiers can often be seen as a heartless and somewhat barbaric. This can mostly be depicted when Alpha Company is with the tracks going through the jungle in pursuit of the Viet Cong. Whilst trudging through the…

Originally, only small groups of law enforcement officers such as the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team had specialized military training to deal with riots, hostage situations, and terrorists. But over time, that group of military trained personnel expanded in numbers and transformed the “boys in blue”. The SWAT team has, “become a fixture in many police departments in the United States” (Coyne 166). According to Coyne, the need for SWAT teams have spread throughout the country with barely 20 percent of police departments having one in 1980, to 90 percent of police departments employing SWAT teams in the year 2000. This spread is followed by the growth in the usage of SWAT teams which has shifted from 3,000 deployments in the 1980’s to nearly 45,000 times in 2000.…

Over the last 1.5 years, the 4th Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT) has undergone significant change. Following a nine month deployment to Afghanistan, the Brigade appears to be overcome by stress, fatigue, leadership, and ethics issues. While many might categorize these as normal post deployment occurrences, they appear to run much deeper. The events of the previous deployment coupled with the death of the Brigade Commander, Brigade Sergeant Major and a Battalion Commander appear to be the critical events that triggered the downward slide of the Brigade.…

The relationship between the Operations Process and the Troop Leading Procedures exist in a symbiotic and mutually necessary system. This system allows leaders to plan, prepare for, and react to various missions and situations in a fluid and organized fashion. As situations develop on a global scale, our national leaders continually develop the policy and precedent that drives the Troop Leading Procedures that lower level leadership is responsible for. Once higher level leadership passes down orders through the Operations Process, actions are taken in the field and in support of maneuvers by lower level leaders and their troops. These smaller units, in turn, gather intelligence and detailed knowledge of the environment and pass this information…
