Tactical Ignoring: A Case Study

Osiris educational (Sept, 21, 2012), recommends tactical ignoring as a corrective strategy in order to ensure that the focus remains on the primary misbehaviour and does not turn to any secondary issues. A couple of secondary issues may be: the teacher arguing with the student or the teacher responding with punishment to a student’s bad attitude or negative facial/sound gestures. It is a method that enables the teacher to remain in control and focus on students whilst ensuring that the student concerned remains calm, without creating any further disturbances [Video].
