Ana’s Taco Truck has a very broad target audience, which means there is also a very competitive market. At her current location, she has neighboring restaurants, but does not have any food truck competition. The second mobile taco truck does have competition against one other food trucks. I compared the competitors by Menu, Price/Value, Efficiency, and Targeted Demographic.

The first competitor was a Restaurant next to the stationary taco truck. Their menu differs in Wings, Pizza and Sandwiches. The price is based on a national brand and image; the value positions to quality are not inline with price. Competitively they have slower service because of lack of staff and table dinning. Their position in the industry is growing, as they are a chain, which targets towards tourist, and family dinning. They are known for their brand image as a family restraint catering to low price meals. The organization definitely has a good reputation but that location seems not as busy as advertised.

The value priced based on volume and lack the required labor for prepared food. Competitively they do well at their location but their efficiency is due to quick service for foods due to convenient preparation. Their position in the industry targets mid- market sports fan, as their food truck is decorated in sports theme. The Grill is known for their general American food with quick and ready available food. They organizations definitely have a connection to their market by relating a sports theme or “sharks theme”.
