American writer Ta-Nehisi Coates wrote about many issues and experiences he has had over the course of his life in his second book Between the World and Me. From writing about his relationship with his father and grandmother as a child to his experiences at the Mecca, Coates covers a wide range of topics. One experience he really enjoyed, was his time spent in Paris, France. Coates first time abroad was such a memorable time that shortly after, he went back with his son and wife. In his time abroad Coates was able to see the world in a different way which helped shape him into the man he is today. As far as modern times, studying abroad is not subject to all students. It is sometimes hard for people to find a way outside of their own homes
