My goal is to enter into TCU through the railroad mechanical worker track. I have a desire to create a career in the railroad industry. There is a high demand for skilled workers, and many young people are not pursuing this route, but instead opting to pursue college careers. I see this as a way to standout in the marketplace, and diversify my skill set allowing to be both a welder and a railroad worker giving me an even greater amount of job security as opposed to having only one trade.
I have excelled in the use of computers since I was able to walk. I took business administration and typing classes since I was in elementary school with my WPM hovering around 90 to 100 depending on how much practice I have had in the period of time. My performance on center has been outstanding as I have only been here for a couple months, and am already ready to transfer to advanced, however do to my outstanding achievements and dedication to my trade I am already the shop foreman for welding.

I have always been independent, but I fully seeked independence when I was 16 years old. This was the year of 2016, and this was the year that my life changed; I was forced to grow up and learn how to be more independent. The first step to my seeking of independence was turning 16 years old and getting my driver’s license. This meant I was finally able to go out on my own and not rely on others to take me places anymore. In the year of 2016, I also began taking classes at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute to earn college credits.…

I believe TCU is a great fit because I think it is the perfect school for me to develop into a productive adult. It is a prestigious school that honors discipline and hard-work which I believe are two characteristics I can work on. The level of education is also held at a high standard and I believe I can become a part of that. The campus also seems to be very friendly and welcoming and appears to be a school I can adjust to. I like the fact that it is a small campus which allows more individual…

My goals under Oregon’s REU opportunity are, to improve my understand of sedimentary processes and water dynamics with hopes for applying this research to my future goals of researching water contamination processes. I want to work with Alan Mix’s research opportunity of looking into the accumulations of river discharge from flooding, and learn how to interpret the floods impact on the forams with a forensic like mind set. Researching forams through an altered sea floor and related this to past flooding would further our understanding between the relationships of floods with sedimentation supply rates and the available accumulation. Because I want to go into contamination, researching past flooding and its impact of the sea floor accumulation would give vital information into how to interpret and go about researching contamination’s affects…

As children, our parents shape our ideas and opinions. When I was a child I thought Texas A&M was the only university my parents would let me attend based on the way they talked about it. I thought that they would not help pay for my college if I went anywhere else. It was not until I was in high school that I realized that Texas A&M was the only university I wanted to attend. I would like to study at Texas A&M to continue my family tradition, for the opportunities it offers after graduation and to be admitted to the dental school with a great education behind me.…

If I could turn my passion into a successful business it would be a small school for the arts. I think it is a good idea because there are many people who love the arts like I do and the small school would be where they go to learn more. You can love music and not know what a time signature is but, if you went to a class about music then you could learn much more. There are many students that love the arts however they are not given the opportunity to take art class, dance, music class,or drama at their schools, this would given them the chance. The way I would start my business would be to go to school for business but continue doing the arts along with working to save money.…

True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…

I was raised by parents that placed an extremely high emphasis on learning, science and progress. I learnt to incorporate scientific thinking and the scientific method in my daily life and thought process, over time this became a natural reaction for me. This has fueled my progress and learning to significant degree along with hard work, however there has always been a component that my parents could not teach me. This component cannot be taught or instilled and one must learn to do it on his own, mainly through trail and error. Although I have been performing this task from early on, it was not until I moved to Singapore that I truly became aware of what I was doing, this was mainly due to the fact that I was finally with peers of better caliber than me.…
