TCMI develops new courses that respond to the current needs of their students, and update those already offered, as confirmed in discussion with administrators, regional representatives, faculty, and students. Evidence in support of currency includes the addition of material related to Islamic culture and religions in several courses when TCMI expanded to offer courses in predominantly-Muslim regions. Many faculty members report numerous interactions in networks of scholarly and pastoral societies in their particular fields, interactions which enable them to update their courses as new information and theories emerge. This, along with their own documented scholarly production, assures the currency of course content.

These include those who do not have an accredited Bachelors degree, whose degree did not include theological study, and those who are exploring the possibility of graduate study with TCMI. The leaning goals and outcome for the certificate are therefore intentionally broad.

TCMI clearly states learning goals and outcomes for each of its Masters degree programs. In addition, it states clearly that the M.Div. program requires the prior successful completion of the M.A. program. The learning goals of the M.Div program are defined at a more advanced level of academic achievement and performance of practical pastoral skills. Interviews with students, faculty, staff, and administrators provide evidence that all are aware of the distinct goals for each degree and the progression from M.A. to

The two chapters for this week’s readings explored two of the five major views on the integration of Christianity and psychology. The Levels-of-Explanation approach is presented by Thomas G. Plante, and the Integration approach is explained by Mark R. McMinn. It seems that the two authors have quite distinct approaches when it comes to reconciling the relationship between psychology and theology in clinical practice. Plante (2012) appears to see theology as a supportive supplement to psychology. In that sense, he appears to prioritize psychology over theology when it comes to his clinical work, evident in his frequent reference to the importance evidenced-based practice interventions.…

The theological integration of faith and learning is one of the essential elements to the educational theory and practice of a Christian Higher Education institution. A discussion of these essential elements helps to set the backdrop for an explanation of my approach to the integration of faith and teaching, learning, and research in regards to Christian Higher Education, especially to Christian Ministry and Leadership discipline. I believe that the elements that are essential to the educational theory and practice of a Christian university are the development of students’ Christian worldview in which Christ-centered education is systematically rooted, the theological integration of faith and learning, and the preparation of students’ vocation…

True and significant life is found in Jesus Christ and because of my firm conviction of this it has been my primary objective to point people to Jesus. Being persuaded that Christ wants Christians and especially those who take leadership roles to minister to the needs of others, I have ordered my life to conform to that conviction. Ultimately, Jesus desires that each Christian serves him by serving others; this is accomplished in a variety of ways – feeding those who are hungry, teaching everyone the life saving Gospel, and by leading in a way that reflects the glory of Christ. It has been my immense pleasure to have had the opportunity to preach God’s Word to thousands of people over the past fifteen years. It is my sincere passion to see people embrace Christ Jesus as their Lord and savior and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word of God.…

    a) As a freshman, I did not understand what it meant to live by the SAU concept until the conclusion of Core 100. In Core 100, we spend a good chunk of time talking about the SAU concept and what it means to be “a community of learners distinguished by our life-long involvement to Jesus Christ as our perspective for learning and critical participation in the contemporary world.” With that being said, I have been striving to make sure that I live a life that incorporates the SAU concept. The first step that I have taken is that I have decided to take my liberal arts classes seriously. I realize that classes such as New Testament, Old Testament, Speech, and the like are not a requirement of my major, but that they are extremely beneficial to…
