Will Rogers, a humorist, once said, “Even if you're on track, you’ll get ran over if you just sit there.” He also said “If you want to be successful, it's just this simple. Know what you are doing. Love what you are doing. And believe in what you are doing.” Teachers and Educators at Central Montcalm High School started a new approach to keep students going in the right direction and to be successful in the direction they choose. To help students they decided to used an acronym for T.R.A.C.K. As a Central Montcalm Hornet, students use the acronym for being teachable, responsible, accountable, committed, and kind.
The first part of being on T.R.A.C.K is being teachable. The Educational Philosophy of Central Montcalm High School states that

The Supplementary Credit paragraph declared that “The student is responsible to make sure that he/she has fulfilled all responsibilities associated with completion of such courses”( Central Montcalm High School 2016-17 Student/Parent Handbook 15).Each student is responsible for completing all of their classes. Each and every student is also responsible for completing work while being absent. In chapter 6 of the handbook Discipline and Student Code of Conduct it reads “It is the responsibility of the individual student to talk to each teacher concerning making up work missed during a period of excused absence”(21). Responsibility is a key factor of being a hornet each student has the responsibility of both passing classes and completing make-up work after being …show more content…
As stated by the Bully, Intimidation, and Harassment portion of the handbook “ The school and district will not tolerate harassing, intimidating conduct, or bullying whether verbal, physical, or visual…”(Central Montcalm High School Student/Parent Handbook 22). Everything stated in the quote above is the exact opposite of kind and anything but kind is not tolerated at Central Montcalm. In the Educational Philosophy of Central Montcalm High School “Helping students develop a positive sense of self-esteem should be the foundation of the educational process”(5) Students should help others and build self esteem instead of bullying and tearing it
