Scraping your knee on the sidewalk, getting hit hard with the basketball, falling off the monkey bars, these are just a few examples of ways you can get hurt at school. The worst case scenario is you would end up going to the school nurse as a result of an accident. Before first grade, suffering an injury was way out of the norm for me. The only time I got hurt in first grade, I bypassed the school nurse and went straight to the hospital. It was a scalding August afternoon, and I just finished another tiring day of first grade.…

Hypertension is supported by the current measurements of the blood pressure readings of 165/100. Lisinopril is an angiotensin –converting enzyme inhibitor (ACE) considered as one of the first line treatment option for hypertension. The pharmacological mechanism of action for Lisinopril is to inhibit the action of angiotensin- converting enzyme by preventing conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II which will result in decreased vasoconstriction of the vessels and water reabsorption.…

The heart can be affected in many ways but the two most serious heart failures are the systolic and the diastolic. The systolic heart failure is when the left ventricle loses its strength to perform contraction normally. This occurs when the heart doesn’t have a great amount of force to help the blood reach the circulation. To determine if a person has this type of failure, a person must conduct a blood pressure test and if their blood pressure is over 140 mmHg (millimetres of mercury), he or she is suffering from high levels of blood pressure. As a matter of fact Systolic comes from the greek work Systole which means drawing together or a contraction.…

First tarnscatheter closure of a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) was carried out in 1979. Since then, a tremendous advance in PDA devices, sheaths and innovation of low profile delivery systems has been occurred. Nowadays, transcatheter closure of the PDA is a standard of care beyond neonatal period. In addition, it can be done safely as an alternative for surgery even in very small infants.1 Comparing to surgical approach, transcatheter PDA closure is associated with lower risk and fewer adverse outcomes. Of note, safety concerns with transcatheter closures are higher in smaller infants; complications such a coil or device malposition, arrhythmia and/or hypotension requiring intervention occur more frequently in infants weighing less than 6…

Blood pressure is closely related to heart rate. Blood pressure is the pressure on blood vessels from blood. The pressure will change based on wither or not the heart is contracted or relaxed. Blood pressure is represented by two numbers; the systolic and diastolic pressure. The systolic pressure is when the ventricles just contracted, and the diastolic pressure is the pressure after the ventricles relax (Weedman and Prins, 2014).…
