Prior to this course, my knowledge on health care information systems was what I considered to be adequate. Over the short span of this course, I have realized that my perception of that was far from accurate. Through the diverse assignments we were tasked with, I was able to practice what I learned weekly. One of the assignments which I found to be a highlight of the course was the systems acquisition assignment. Through this assignment I was able to gain insight of a health care organization’s quest to uphold quality patient care by meeting the needs of its patients while achieving the goals required in staying current with the latest technology.
